The year 2020 will be remembered for many things — a global pandemic, politics and a contentious election, social unrest and calls for equality, wildfires in the west, and a record number of storms in the Atlantic.
For this post, you will critique the content of one of your favorite brands or products. Here’s your set of tasks:
Think about a brand or product that you like. Find one example of: (a) owned media, (b) paid media, and (c) earned media for this brand or product. Share an image of or link to each example.
Critique the content of each and describe how the company or brand used each type of media to address a major event in 2020, such as one of those listed above.
Then, answer the follow questions:
Is there a call to action in each? What is it?
Who is the target audience? Is it the same for all three types of media?
How would you rate the effectiveness of each from the company’s perspective? Were the media sensitive or insensitive to the topic?
