COLOR PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS:
Take a new photo and then adjust the saturation, value, hue, etc. to manipulate the image. You may want to play with the Color interactive exercise to see how these changes affect your perception.
Include in your photo essay:
1. the original photo, no filter/manipulation
2. the same photo with the hue changed–either black and white OR highly saturated color
3. the same photo with brightness, contrast or saturation changed
If you are not used to editing your photographs in your phone, you may find this tutorial helpful.
Write a short 200-ish word artistic statement about your photographic series, including:
–the title of the series
–the meaning/message of your series
–how have you used color to change the meaning/impact of your photo?
–what happens when you take away colors from your photograph and make it black and white? How does it change the meaning/impact of the photo?
–how have you played with brightness and/or contrast to change the meaning/impact of your photo?
–what do you want the viewer to notice/pay attention to in your photograph?
–how emotions do you wish to inspire with your photograph?
The PDF is an example of the project, and the second picture is myself and that’s the one I want to use for this project.
I would like to say that when I became an American citizen was one thing that I will always be proud, I want you to use the picture of me with my certificate. Thank you.
