Questions
1. What is Jefferson’s views towards Africans? How could Jefferson reconcile these statements in this document, his ownership of slaves, and his writing in the Declaration of Independence that, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
2. What is George Washington’s feelings about the events in Massachusetts? Consider the debates during the period of proper forms of government and assess where Washington fits within those debates? How would Washington compare to someone like Jefferson on the issues?

Responses should be 1-2 pages, double spaced in 12 point Times New Roman font with one-inch margins on all sides. Including the questions or a header is not required, but if they are included they do not count towards the minimum page limit.
An exceptional primary source response will utilize material found in the corresponding main sections of the textbook in addition to the primary source material. Consult the course schedule or the table of contents for relevant material. No outside sources are allowed
You need to show us you have not only read, but understand, the document you are responding to. Large blocks of quoted text and minimal analysis on your paper is not a sufficient response
