My research question is: What component of literacy is performed the lowest amongst students?
The sceario is: It is January, and you were recently hired as the curriculum coordinator of the new summer
programming for 50 students in grades K–6 from your urban elementary school; the classes include
many underachieving readers. The programming seeks to maintain and improve academic performance,
specifically literacy, of all students who attend. The superintendent has encouraged you to exercise your
educational leadership by designing the program in accordance with the research literature.
