This assignment will consist
of four entries, each with a maximum of 500 words. This assignment will ask you
to apply one of the theories that we explore in class to a book, film, tv
episode, podcast, song, game, or other type of media that you engage with in
your everyday life.
You can choose to apply the
four different theories to one chosen media (a particular song, or an episode
of a tv show) or you can choose multiple instances of media (a song, a story, a
podcast, and a game, for example). Whichever approach you choose, you should demonstrate
a strong understanding of the theories through your analysis of the chosen
media/
In the spirit of
exploration, you will also experiment in print media forms in the completion of
this assignment. Your portfolio should demonstrate some creative exploration in
the presentation of your analysis. For example, you could explore color
schemes, variations in font, use of images, color blocking, and other layout strategies
to enhance the delivery of your ideas.
You will be graded on your understanding of the
theories, your ability to apply them to the chosen media, your ability to
communicate your understanding in a clear and effective manner, and the
creative presentation of your portfolio.
You need to write on four diffrent theories and show your understanding of them by applying them to some media (radio, Film, Music, News)
