INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Use the attached template to create an outline for the thesis and body of your Process Essay.Replace the instructional text next to the Roman numerals, capital letters, and numbers, with information concerning your essay that the instructional text describes. Your outline should include the following:
    • The thesis statement should present the idea that you will support in the body of the essay and provide a roadmap that tells readers in general how you will support that idea.
    • Each Roman numeral (I, II, III, IV, etc.) on the template with it’s sub-points and supporting details usually represents the outline of one body paragraph. It should contain a topic sentence that expresses the main idea of the paragraph (each of these main ideas should correspond chronologically with a major step in your process)
    • With capital letters A, B, C, etc. on the template below the Roman numerals: at least 2 sub-points for each main point
    • With numbers 1, 2, etc. below the capital letters: at least 2 supporting details for each sub point
    • Additionally, you may need to add sub-points and supporting details as needed (e.g., You might need to add a C containing a third sub-point after the second sub-point (B) under any of the Roman numerals to fully support the main idea of that paragraph.)

    Submit your essay outline in one of the following methods:

    • Attach a PDF
    • Attach a Microsoft Word document.
