1. Please research and discuss one technological invention that interests you from ancient China or Japan – discuss why you feel this innovation was particularly important.
2. Also, for this week, focus on one Chinese or Japanese cultural element (not from the ancient period), like religion/philosophy, art, architecture, food, etc., that was transformed because of technological advancements that came about.
3. Choose one moment of expansion, diffusion, and/or conflict throughout Chinese or Japanese history and articulate the role that technology played in this historical moment.
4. Discuss one technological innovation from contemporary China or Japan that you think could/has changed the world.
