All of our communities are emergency preparedness and disasters. For some communities it is a smaller event with a single victim sometimes there is no fatalities due to the planned response. For some communities it is a major event that is scrutinized and played out on the national stage with everyone watching. Research a disaster that impacted your community, include the link to the news article discussing the events.
This should be addressed
Paragraph One:
What event you are going to be discussing, present the event including a link to the the news article regarding the event. This does not have to be a big event but if it is something that overwhelmed community resources
Paragraph Two:
What was the impact on the community? Discuss the response by the community and how did the event unfold, was the response successful. What recovery efforts were made and was it appropriate.
Paragraph Three:
What lessons were learned with this event. Was the community response adjusted or changed after the event and because of the after action report? What changes do you feel could be made to further protect the community.
Paragraph Four:
Summarize the event, response and how improvements could be made and where you feel your community can continue to protect its inhabitants.
