Students will write an in-depth research paper (8-10 sources) on a selected topic (see below) that is a minimum of 3,000 words (approximately 10-12 pages). The student will only need to select one topic for a paper that totals 3,000 words. Instructor approval is required for topic selection. The paper must be written in Turabian format with cover page and bibliography. It is highly recommended to use the suggested research questions to aid you in this project.

In what ways is the question of miracles both a philosophical one and a historical one?
Why do most historians accept that Jesus had a reputation as a healer and exorcist? What is the evidence for this?
To what ancient parallels have Jesus’ miracles been compared? What similarities and differences were there between Jesus and so-called “divine men”? What similarities and differences between Jesus and charismatic holy men?
According to Jesus’ own teaching, what was the significance of his exorcisms? His healings? The revivications? The nature miracles?
