Management Interview Project 2

This will be the second interview you will be asked to conduct for the semester. I would like for you to review the previous interview and make necessary changes in the next interview. Again, this is an opportunity for you to be allowed to see inside the real world of management and supervising. Choose an area of interest for this interview so you may be able to ask more pertinent questions regarding your areas of interests / major as we continue to move through the semester. You must choose a new person to interview for your 2nd interview. This CANNOT be the same person. If you submit a paper of an interview that was completed by the same person as your second interview, you will receive a zero. This must be a new person, preferably a new company.

If you need a reminder about how to write your interview questions, please go to Interview 1 instructions and review the video as well as the Interview lecture.

Approval and Questions:

You will need to gain approval for the manager and the questions that you will ask from your instructor before you are able to complete the interview. You will be able to submit the manager’s information and 10 questions that will be discussed during the interview into the Assignment called Management Interview Approval 2. I will review all questions and managers and provide you feedback. These questions should be different than the original 10 questions used in the 1st interview. This allows you to ask and learn different aspects of management and the business. These 10 questions can be about the company; however, please limit these to 2 or 3 questions. You will need to ask questions regarding areas that we have discussed throughout the middle of this semester. Throughout Chapters 4-7 we have covered the topics listed below:

  • Problem Solving / Decision Making
  • Managers Planning, Organizing and Implementing
  • Managers and Control
  • Using a SWOT Analysis
  • Achieving Goals / Objectives
  • Developing Strategies
  • Identifying and Working with Change
  • Time Management
  • Multitasking
  • Working with different levels of Authority

Think about these areas and questions that would be good information to know from an experienced / professional manager.

Analyzing your Interview:

After conducting the interview, write a paper that reflects the interview.

1) You will need to discuss the overall interview and its success.
2) You will need to discuss each of the 10 questions and the associated answers.
3) Evaluate each of the answers and explain what you learned regarding business / management / etc.

Paper Requirements:

  • This paper should be easily 4 pages.
  • Please use Times New Roman, 12 point font.
  • Please use 1 to 1.15 line spacing. (No double spacing).
  • Please use breaks where needed to create a well organized paper.

Example of Paper format:

Write your Question here
Explain response of interviewee
Write what you learned from this question and response

You will have about 1 week to complete the questions, have these questions approved, and schedule your interview. You will have the rest of the time frame before the deadline to complete the interview and write the paper, so please do not procrastinate and make sure to check the deadline for this assignment.

Below is a checklist that will help you write your paper and include all needed information within each questions.
