Hamilton – The New Hot Show!

Hamilton has been the hot show to see for the last few years. It won 11 Tony Awards including Best Musical in 2015. I saw it on Broadway back in 2015 and I was blown away! The show was sold out, but I waited in the lobby for a cancellation ticket. I was lucky to get a ticket for $238.00! I thought that was high, but I bought it anyway. I’m glad I did. When Hamilton came to Los Angeles, the cheap tickets were going for $400.00 each!

I will also attached a copy of our textbook covering musicals for reference/guidance!

This show is new and innovative! I loved it and I’m not a huge fan of rap music. I am in awe of composer, lyricist, and librettist, Lin-Manuel Miranda. He tells a history lesson about founding father, Alexander Hamilton, in a fresh, exciting new way that will reach our young people. If you get a chance to see it, you should.

Lin-Manuel Miranda also wrote the musical, In the Heights, and won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 2008.

Here’s an interview with Lin-Manuel Miranda that will explain the show and how he created it.
