Learning Goal: I’m working on a humanities question and need a sample draft to help me learn.

Overview

In this exercise, you will choose a wellness-related topic or event and examine it using the four interdisciplinary general education lenses. You may see how the interconnectedness of wellness impacts society by looking at the problem/event through various lenses. The scientific and practical sciences, social science, history, and humanities comprise general education’s four interdisciplinary lenses.

  • The study of history focuses on the past and how it relates to the present. It includes memories, content, and temporally positioned occurrences.
  • The study of humanities examines metaphor, experience, and meaning in the context of cultural creative expression.
  • The social sciences use statistics and demographic data to analyze social structures and human relationships, while the natural and applied sciences use the scientific method to study the material world.

We frequently hop between many frames to make sense of an event. When we go to a musical performance, for example, we could switch from an artistic perspective (how was the musical score created?) to a technical one (how is the lighting done?) to a financial one (how much do the actors make?). Similarly, using the interdisciplinary general education lenses can extend our viewpoint by allowing us to study things consciously and see things from other angles.

Guidelines

You will write a brief paper for this assignment on any topic related to wellness that you choose below.

  • Mental Health care
  • Mental Health in the workplace
  • Workplace stressors during and after the pandemic

Once you have decided on a topic, conduct preliminary research to ensure you can cover the project’s requirements. You must apply each lens to your issue in your paper by utilizing its terminology and viewpoints. You can use the items below the rubric criteria to help you better understand the requirements and direct your writing, but you do not have to answer some of them.

You must pay particular attention to rubric criteria:Every paragraph needs a bold lens header.
