A formal written statement that describes in detail the idea for a new business and how it will be carried out; includes a general description of the company, the qualifications of the owner(s), a description of the product or service, an analysis of the market, and a financial plan.
For this class, you will develop a business plan for your own business. 
You can choose the Traditional Business Plan, or the Lean Startup Plan.

For this Business Plan, you should develop it with the consideration that this would be a real business in Sonoma County, or in another location if you plan to relocate. With respect to sources of information and other resources, you should examine the market for the business model that you plan to develop with all available open source information. 
Your instructor will evaluate your efforts based on your ability to follow the format of one of the two recommended business plans, as well as the professionalism and detail of your submission. Ultimately, this is an assignment that will serve your own interests as an entrepreneur and inform your understanding of the competitive environment.
