Write about a character, real or imagined, who feels trapped by circumstance and who wishes to become more independent. Using the skills you have learned in this unit, explore how your character moves from dependence to independence in your narrative. Be sure to describe any obstacles your character faces in the beginning, the decisions the character makes to become independent, and any consequences and responsibilities of this newfound independence. If you choose to write a personal narrative, use the same outline to write about how you or someone you know has achieved independence. Remember to include the following in your narrative:
• a plot with a beginning, middle, and end
• a clear setting
• characters and dialogue
• descriptive details
• a clear theme
Please submit your story arc in this Portfolio. Additionally, please remember that you must use Times New Roman font, size 12 and include the MLA heading on the first page.
