DISCUSSION POST 1
American Psychological Association (APA) format is the most recognized method used in social sciences disciplines (Staines, 2019). APA style originated in 1929 when a group of social scientists convened and established a simple set of guidelines that would codify many components of scientific writing to increase the ease of reading comprehension (American Psychological Association 2019). The guidelines are published in a book by the association and are now in its seventh edition. The primary purpose of the APA style is to facilitate scientific communication by promoting clarity of expression and by standardizing the organization and content of research articles and book chapters (Chiang et al., 2015).
APA style is needed to provide uniformity and consistency in papers. In the fields of psychology and sociology, the APA style has a significant influence. It provides a consistent method for writing and organizing academic papers and assignments. This includes the structure of the paper, the citation of sources, and the presentation of statistical data.
The APA style is important because it ensures consistency across papers and journals, making it easier for readers to follow the paper’s logic and narrative. It also enhances the writer’s credibility and aids in avoiding plagiarism by requiring citation of sources.  APA style makes writing research easier since it provides a basic layout including what information to present, the order in which to show it, and the style to present it in. This makes it easier to read about research when it’s presented familiarly (Chiang et al., 2015).

DISCUSSION POST 2
When anthropologists, psychologists, and business managers got together in 1929, they tried to come up with a short set of rules, or style standards, that would simplify the various elements of scientific writing and make it easier for readers to understand what they were reading. This is how APA style has come to be. The elements of academic writing that are most relevant to writing in the domains of nursing, communications, business, psychology, engineering, and allied fields are covered by APA Style. It focuses on preparing student articles for a course assignment and draft manuscripts that are submitted to journals for publication. Ideas flow naturally, references are properly cited, and documents are regularly and predictably ordered when style is used correctly. Individuals are described in a way that upholds their dignity and sense of worth. To enable readers to assess findings and prospective replication of the studies by other researchers, the authors account for ethical compliance and disclose pertinent aspects of their study process. Data is presented in tables and figures in an eye-catching, dependable way. Consistency in writing is encouraged by APA Style, and the APA Style founders took this into consideration while creating its requirements. Over time, consistency in style aids writers in understanding and correctly implementing the rules.
