As a reminder, your paragraph should ensure you are thinking critically about the text. Please do not simply summarize the text or evaluate whether or not you like the text. Instead, write a 7- to 10-sentence persuasive and focused analysis, argument, or interpretation about the text. 
A critical response paragraph is essentially a mini essay and requires four parts:
an argumentative topic sentence
evidence in the form of quotations or paraphrases for the argument you are making (include page numbers)
interpretation of your evidence in relation to the argument
a strong concluding statement
THEME: 
War and Trauma: Gods Go Begging explores the effects of war, and specifically, the Vietnam war. It emphasizes the impact war-induced trauma and PTSD has on individuals and communities. Through its main character, Jesse Pasodoble, the novel examines the psychological scars left by war, as well s the challenges of reintegrating into civilian life and living with PTSD.
