The aim of this assignment is for you, as a team, to understand the main purposes and key components of business plans and design a business plan as a dynamic blueprint for running a business in the construction industry. You are encouraged to read about the industry extensively and to discuss with your tutor and teammates on a regular basis. The Assignment will also provide you with an opportunity to further develop both your oral and written communication skills, which are essential to your current or future practice in the industry.

The assignment comprises two components, including a group written Business Plan (Task 1; 30 marks; assessed as a team) and an individual oral presentation (Task 2; 10 marks; assessed individually). Your team is required to write a fully referenced and well-structured Business Plan and make an oral presentation on your Business Plan. The information that you use for your presentation should be from your Business Plan.

Business Plan

The submission must be a Commercial Contractor Business Plan, namely a professional Business Plan developed for a construction company. Your Business Plan is to discuss and show how your selected project fits your selected company’s profile and development. You may use Simonds Group Annual Report 2020 and 2021 as a reference to form your company’s integrals. You can access Simonds Group Annual Report 2020 and 2021 through the Assignment Folder.
